Now I think I have a black split to lavender going broody too.

I have two broody geese, two Orpingtons, an Olive egger, a Splash Copper Marans, a Lemon Blue Bantam Cochin, and a turkey hen all determined to be mothers. The geese and two chickens I've let keep eggs. Everyone else is just going to have to give it up.

I've thought about getting a boat load of little cochins just to hatch for me but I'd have to hear sh!t from Overo if I did.

So long as they looked nice, I don't think you'd have a problem with her. Just make sure feathers are in the right place and they don't look like anything from Hoover's...lol

Best I've ever had were BCMs.

My Marans were pretty good moms. My English Orpingtons are either great or really, really bad. I've also found them to be a bit....racist? They tend to pick a favorite color out of the chicks and the others don't get mothered as much. It's weird.
