You said a few years. 10 years is way more than a few!

Okay maybe they still have chickens from that line. :plbb

That seems to be a problem here with a lot of colors too. 😕
What I have noticed is the more free range time the chicken gets the yellower the legs..... is it a diet thing??

It does affect them. Egg laying will pull the yellow out also.
When mine free ranged they had bright yellow legs but in the breeder pens while laying heavy they get really dull without much color.
Sometimes I can have a pen and one or two will be really bright. You can bet those aren't laying often.
Anything said to darken yolks when fed will also brighten the yellow shanks.
