If you're looking for silvers why not get a couple silver Deathlayer males and breed to the Buttercup hens. I don't know what the rosecomb would do to the buttercup, but I would imagine that by F4 you could have some decent silver Buttercups. In the F1 you would have the Ss cockerels to use on Buttercups hens and the silver pullets from the previous year as well. If you would hatch 50-75 of those you should have a decent selection to pick from.Oh Moony...

I assumed Leghorn would be the best bet. I just don't want their combs to be hideous. I really like the Silver Duckwing.Man!
Those are gorgeous!
Use Leghorns!
Actually though, breed Leghorns of various colors with your Buttercups.

I don't know that breed well. What pattern are yours? Are any other patterns available?
Honestly, I don't want to pay for Deathlayers. Everyone I know with them has health problems, and people around here charge way too much for them. They are higher than a giraffe noshing on the devil's lettuce. Comb type, egg color, size, and leg color also make me lean away from them. Deathlayers are a larger bird.If you're looking for silvers why not get a couple silver Deathlayer males and breed to the Buttercup hens. I guess if you would breed the red Buttercup males to the silver Deathlayer hens you would also get the Ss cockerels to use.
