Ya I hate that 3 week deal. Right now I'm wanting to just throw things together and get to hatching but I'm trying to slow down and think things through. If I throw a rooster with some hens and then think about a different route I should of taken I have that clean out time to deal with. Hate it.
I think you're right but I just have to know for sure for my own sanity.

I completely get that. It's good to be careful, especially when dealing with certain lines of birds you don't want tainted with rogue rooster sperm. lol The longest we have seen a hen lay from a previous rooster was 2 weeks. So cleaning a hen out for 2-3 weeks is good for us. We usually move our brood hens in with the rooster they are going to spend the breeding season with in January, that way by the time we start hatching from them in March or so, there is no question which rooster fathered the chicks. This has been a rare year where I have put 3 different roosters over the same hen to raise chicks from the 3 different matings. lol

Yes I really like that one! It is really beautiful and nicely done. When I was a kid I used to draw all of the different breeds of chickens that were in the Murray McMurray catelog. I wish I still had those drawings. My favorite thing to draw was chickens.

Thank you! I have always admired how beautiful Largemouth Bass are, and I tried hard to capture everything about them that is beautiful.
