The Moonshiner's Leghorns

Yes I really like that one! It is really beautiful and nicely done. When I was a kid I used to draw all of the different breeds of chickens that were in the Murray McMurray catelog. I wish I still had those drawings. My favorite thing to draw was chickens. :)
Chickens were the first thing I learned to draw and my favorite thing to draw is still chickens. I've drawn every chicken breed in the standard at one point or another.
I will have to hunt that thread up. lol

I drew a pair of hawks in high school in pen and ink. My art teacher begged me for it, so he could have in hung in the commons area of my school. It still hangs there to this day. I wish I had a picture or a copy of it though.

Here is a chicken painting I did in HS when I first started dating my husband. This is his original Radio Kelso brood cock and he was kind of a big deal. My husband loves this painting.

I wish I had a copy of the colored pencil Eclectus parrot I did in high school that I gave to the biology teacher. That was one of my favorite pieces out of all that I've ever made.
@Amer did you draw any Leghorns?
Yes, but not recently. Recently I sketched a chicken almost like a Leghorn that would be me as a chicken (for a thought exercise)

(as you can see, white legs, very accurate to my legs, lol)
However, back in probably 2020 I did draw a Leghorn

I'd just started seriously practicing drawing chickens in 2019

Wow! The sickle and shoulder feathers turned out real nice on that one
Reminds me of this watercolor colored pencil piece I did back in '22

I think the angle with which I took that photo might be slightly off

I love that we have that in common! I wish I still had my chicken drawings from when I was a kid. I used to love drawing all of the exotic breeds. lol

I bet your parrot drawing was amazing. I love parrots too, birds in general really. I used to breed cockatiels.

Ooh I love the abstractness of it! Its beautiful. I love it when you can feel the breed’s personality in a portrait. I want to do a color pencil of a Leghorn. My favorite thing to draw is single combs and rooster faces. I love their expressions. I think drawing a big Leghorn comb would be highly satisfying. 😁😁😁
