The Moonshiner's Leghorns

Sigh, a hen decided to sleep in the tree and she's very lucky I was staying up tonight. Heard a commotion outside and went to check. She was on the ground in front of my lighted pen. No injuries and I put her in that pen.

Also the shit ate the eggs through the side of the trap. Or it avoided the pressure plate when it went in.

I'm glad the varmint didn't kill your hen. You need a good LGD. :(

Can't afford that due to current feed costs for the cats and the chickens. What I'm working on is hardware cloth on the whole pen and electricity that might kill them. I have a 6 to 9 joule fence charger that I'm not sure I want to use but may have no other choice.

So, staying up tonight and checking birds and pens about every hour. The culprit is an opossum. It's was trying to get in the bunker pen and I almost got it with the shovel. Not sure I'll see it again tonight but I'm sticking with my plan.
We catch opossums well on canned cat food.
