Bummed out day today. My MaticoopX alarm started going off today. Never heard it before, didn't even know it had one.
Temp was 97° and dropping slowly. Kept dropping so unplugged it for a few and then reset. Won't maintain temp. Maybe heating element went out.
But ya for now it's done for.

On the bright side, at least you have a million other backup incubators to throw the eggs in.

Still getting into the 90s here. Those turner motors get really warm and X6 makes it go over temp when it isn't even kicking on.
No room with AC where I can run it. Had a brilliant idea I might look into in the near future to work it out.

We have been looking into installing a mini split Mr Cool or similar brand AC. Definitely no extra cash for that now but maybe eventually. You can do the installation yourself which is definitely a plus.

Lost a Silver Leghorn rooster yesterday. He just seemed to fail to thrive as he didn’t seem to be ill and none of the others in the large group he is in are ill. Luckily I have 9 others.

I am also losing a juvenile free ranging here and there, mainly because they just can’t resist finding a hole in the fence and getting into the yard with the turkeys and extra Sussex roosters. The Sussex roosters are the main culprit we have found. I caught them in the act the other day and saved the cockerel they were killing. The bachelor life drives them to chase down the juveniles and basically run a chain on them and breed them to death. We will be butchering all of those extra roosters this week hopefully!
