That'd be a personal preference and availability.
Browns are common. They hold their own compared to the Whites. They lay as well unless it's a high production strain of whites. Enough browns around to have a good gene pool to make them thrive. I think they're one of the prettiest varieties but they are common.
I know you can find silver duckwing and exchequer from a hatchery or two.
I love buffs and I guess there's a breeder or two out there that'll sell eggs. I still see Isabella eggs on Ebay so those are still around.
Let us know what you're thinking and someone here can help you look. I don't have much in the numbers atm to get a decent number of eggs out but if you hit on something I can help with I would.

I have 2 empty incubators here at the moment, so I could hatch. One holds 55 egg's and the other one holds 12. I have 2 incase of getting eggs from more then one bloodline, so I would be able to keep my flock of them going. I have another 12 egg incubator currently loaded with Naked Neck hatching egg's from ebay.

Edited to add that the Naked Necks will be separated from the leghorns when I get some of those.

A friend of mine here in Arizona has those barred ones that she says are cuckoo. She can't find any breeders to get new blood for hers. That's why I didn't offer to buy any of hers.

Sandhill has Barred. Sold out til June 10th. Never heard of a Cuckoo leghorn. Barred and Cuckoo are similar feathering. I had Cuckoo Marans and Dominiques, both good breeds.

I have some blue gold duckwings. They're like browns but with blue replacing the black.
I haven't been hatching any so I'd have to set up a pen. They breed like BBS so you could hatch browns, blue gold duckwing and splash gold duckwing.
