The Moonshiner's Leghorns

Do you know me here? That username sounds familiar.
You can just hang out in my threads mods don't come here.
Lol, I have all the cool leghorns that no one else has.Yes

Yes, I talked to you before. I never said anything bad or rude, so I don't know why they did that. Anyway, I have been doing everything I can think of to keep these guys going. My last batch from Sand Hill grew up to be the size of banty chickens.

Every time I've seen any which has been rare they're too beefy. I suspect most were California Greys instead of Leghorns.
CGs wouldn't be the worse thing to use if there's no options. They're white egg layers, white lobes and yellow skin. I just don't know how hard it'd be to get back to the slimmer lighter leghorn type.
They're my sons absolute favorite variety.
He started showing less interest in the chickens (I thought) and I almost let them die out cause I've had them so long and was concentrating on other varieties. He noticed there weren't many around and jumped my shit. So ya I'm trying to bring back some numbers this hatch season.

Can I get in line for some eggs when you have some? I will need to wait til I have a broody hen so probably next spring I will start bugging you. I was going to get some from Sandhill but theirs were all killed off by gnats (I don’t know how that happens but after reading your review of them and seeing the birds you got from them I have cold feet even if they do manage to get their lines up and going again). I have never kept Leghorns but things have changed. The flighty birds I used to avoid are what I need in my life haha

I don't hug mine neither. I let them be birds.

Please do help with the numbers!
Right now I have five eggs in the incubator from the 5 year old hen that I got at the show (wish me luck) because she's the best one I have. She still lays some, but not like she used to. I'm working on legs, most of the ones I got from Sand Hill have white legs, and like I said earlier, they're small. But I'm doing the best I can and am desperate for a decent outcross.

Lol, I know sh!t happens and I know you can lose birds in the craziest ways but ya gnats? Who knew? And how? I remember when Colt brought that up long ago and I've still not figured it out.

LOL, I'll name them anything you like!
The one in the big coop is fairly decent, but has a few all white feathers. He is called Mr. Grumbles because he growls all the time. He's also pretty hard on the girls, so as soon as I get a better one, he will go to freezer camp.
