The Moonshiner's Leghorns

Oh, and this is what I used to make those 5 gallon bucket feeders, but they would also work with containers that are bigger then that. I set mine up on a couple of those cement blocks to keep it up off of the ground. That might help some of you up north that will be dealing with those colder winters. Use a container that you will be able to see where the level of feed is at, so you will know when more needs to be added.

I spent the afternoon chickening and I don’t even have chickens yet. Just a batch in the incubator. I have an old chicken house that’s pretty well insulated. I cleaned it and knocked the cobwebs out. I’m going to try setting up a brooder out there and not brooding them in my house. I’ll run it a week and keep a thermometer in there to track the highs and lowes. I think with two heat lamps and plenty of room to run they’ll be fine. I’ll probably keep them in the garage for the first week and then out into the wild they’ll go.

I came across quite a few cobwebs myself yesterday. I was going to go up to the house and get the broom but you know it was raining and then I kind of thought why bother. I'm about to add a whole bunch of chickens. They're basically feather dusters anyways, right?

Yes, big feather dusters.

Feather dusters and bug removal in one! Do any of you guys brood in unheated buildings? It’s draft free and insulated. When they get feathered I have another coop for them that has more ventilation. This one has a window I can open too if it’s going to be warm.

Cobwebs are natural Halloween decorations. I have them on my camper too!
