No you don’t have to have a vacuum sealer, we got one just to make things easier since we put up a lot of meat. It keeps the meat fresh and prevents freezer burn. Before we got the vacuum sealer I wrapped the meat up in aluminum foil and then put that into freezer bags and it did just as good.
Oh ya I need to go back and look at your butcher pics. I wasn't sitting around the other day so wanted to wait till I had free time to really look.
Someone sent me a link to skinning and butchering the "easy way" I'll have to find it and post to see if you agree that's the best way to go about it. It does legs first but I'll skip that or maybe do those just for the dogs. I really only want the breast meat for myself.
A lot of my boys are past the fryer age so I'll probably try one and see what I think. If not tasty they may go to someone else that'll eat them.
I need to try the process and see if I have many young enough to be tasty. If the butchering isn't bad and they're not too old for my taste I'd rather go through them sooner rather then later so they aren't just getting older and feeding more.
If it works out I'll load up and eat them until next year's batches. It would probably be wise if I do that to get a vacuum sealer. Well unless they're crazy expensive.
