The Moonshiner's Leghorns

On an extremely positive note, the chicks produced from the other Buff rooster over the iBTR pullet are all yellow legged. No green legged birds from him, thank God. I have one more batch of eggs due to hatch on the 9th, then I will turn the incubator off for a bit, giving me time to clear out the brooders and allow the weather to get warmer.

Yesterday we were negative 10 in the morning, with a -23 windchill. I felt bad but kept the chickens locked in the tarped run. Today at least it was exactly 0 when I went to feed them. I threw some hay outside the tarped run door and left it open. Almost no wind, and I’m sure it felt a lot warmer this morning. This week high is around 20s. Next weekend it is dipping into the negatives again, with a high of 8 on Sat. I HATE these temps, especially when they come after 3 feet of snow (it doesn’t melt).

Hopefully this is the worst of it. I would kill for a 35 degree daytime temp.

It's 75 over here right now.

I think I MIGHT rather have 115 than -15….😂
We haven't had -15° and I hope we never do. I think -4° has been our lowest actual temp. Have had several -15° -20° wind chills and those suck. None of my cloths combat those temps well.
I'd take the 115°, maybe. Depends on the real feel. Once we're over 100° here our humidity adds another 10° to 15° for the real feel.
I found it so odd when another member from Arizona would say their 110° real feel was like 100° because of lack of humidity.
I looked into once and it said our humidity made hot feel hotter and cold feel colder. That ain't cool at all.
