The Moonshiner's Leghorns

I miss my chickens!!!!!!! Especially my EEs and Leghorn and Leghorn mixes!!!!!!!!! They were the BEST. The Leghorn was so industrious both in foraging and egg laying and the mixed cockerels were so friendly. The mixed pullets were great too as were all of the grandchildren LOL the grand children laid SUPER early and several laid colored eggs because grandma was an EE. Another grandma was the Leghorn. Grandpa was a MASSIVE Lavender Orpington LOL and then he randomly died when his first chicks were about 2 weeks old. But the 2 cockerels sired several more chicks over my hens of various breeds making for interesting coloring, feathers (some muffed), eggs, etc.

I LOVED breeding.

Oh and I really really really loved my Barred Rocks too. Only had one hen who passed well before I got Jack and then a cockerel who got taken by a predator. :hit but both were the SWEETEST birds. Unrelated birds though. And the hen was a great layer.

The BAs and BOs were extremely friendly but too fluffy LOL the Delaware was WAY too loud LOL

And the partridge rock had ZERO personality and was kinda mean to everybody LOL NOTHING like my Barred.

And my Speckled Sussex was friendly but dumb as rocks and a terrible mother. One BA followed them around a while then took over at a couple weeks old LOL She was much better.

ANYWAYS!!!!!!

I am rambling now so I am sorry.

Back to Leghorns… mine was not flighty AT ALL. Very friendly and personable. Just also very aware of her surroundings LOL

Unlike one BO who stayed out till dusk/after dark foraging (fatty LOL) and got taken by a hawk. My favorite bird too. Always the favorites. :hit

Leghorns are much better overall birds. Even the mixes. Freddy was MASSIVE like his daddy but so so sweet. Max was cool too but he was half EE not Leghorn. They ruled together though LOL

I guess the only one I actually am uncertain the father of I know it’s a Leghorn and if it’s my BBS guy it won’t look like a regular brown Leghorn. If it does I can point at Tito and say “you’re NOT the father!”
Lmaooooo amazing

Nahhhhh in a yard. All by itself.
I did see a nice looking coop though so I am sure there MUST have been friends SOMEWHERE unless they all got taken by predators or something and now they just keep a lone chicken? IDK. Seems really unlikely. LOL but IDK because I could genuinely only see the one. There were no others even in the run of the coop. This one looked like an EE. But who knows.

A couple houses after that is a shelter thing at the end of the driveway like for eggs but the sign says sold out and has the whole week I have been here so IDK if they are on vacation or got rid of their chickens or are eating the eggs themselves orrrrrrrr?????? LOL

I bet it’s better than what we’re having—leftover spaghetti 😆 I gave up on winning the Mom of the Year award a long time ago teehee
You had leftover spaghetti?
