The Most Dangerous Coffee Shop- A Role Play

Lav looked at the girl with wide and confused eyes. Someone actually greeted me? What? "M-Missouri? Chosen one?... Giant... bugs?" She glanced around at the other people, trying to process what she had just been told. Then turned back to the girl who had greeted her and gave her a small smile, gratitude creeping into her heart. "T-thank you... For using your time to tell me what's going on." She looked over at the boy nearby and gave him a small wave. "I don't have money though... Can I still get tea?" She asked timidly.

“Yup. It’s weird, right?” Clary tilted her head. “My time? You make it sound like such a big deal,” she smiled, holding back laughter. “Yes, that’s what free means. Where are you from? Obviously not from around here.”

With an abashed sigh, Colby crawled out from beneath the table and picked himself up off the ground. "Yeah...I mean, this whole thing..." He trailed off, making some unclear gesture with his fidgeting front paws. "Ya know?" He lifted his eyes from the floor to her face. "When I woke up, I was planning on school, not being teleported to some foreign coffee shop." His muzzle twisted into a frown as turned to look out the nearest window. "Where even are we?"

"Cameron, but a lot of people call me Cam," Cam said. She carried her stuff over to a booth and sat down.

Kyle shrugged and Laurel moved on, serving Brid and Colby. He looked a bit young to be drinking coffee, but it was always hard to tell with anthropomorphic foxes.

She nodded sympathetically, the expression on her face mirroring his own. “Same. I’m supposed to be reading a book right now. And as far as I can tell we’re in Missouri,” Brid told him. “The time matches up.” Then she glanced to where the pastries and drinks were being distributed. “That guy, Laurel, said that the food’s free. Do you want anything? I’m gonna go over there anyway, so I can bring you something back if you’d like.”

Clary jumped, falling out of her chair and spilling coffee on the table. She stood up and grabbed a napkin, using it to clean up the coffee. When no one greeted the newcomer, she walked over to her. “Hi. You’re in a coffee shop in Missouri. You were brought here because you’re one of the ‘chosen ones’ to help fight giant bugs.” Clary said. “And yes, we all know how crazy it sounds. No, I could not find the cameras.” She gave her a half smile, and motioned to the counter. “There’s free coffee and snacks, if you’re interested. Oh, and that’s Fred. He’s 11. He’s also free.” She said jokingly, pointing to Fred.
Fred spotted her and waved cheerily enjoying his meal

Ellie stood. This is ridiculous! Go find someone to sit with and stop looking like a wimp. She gazed around the room, no one she could see or recognise. She brushed a strand of brown hair behind her ear. She realised she hadn’t plaited her hair yet and quickly swept the hair with experienced fingers into a plait that hung to the middle of her back. She looked around. Nobody she knew.

After Brid and Colby were served, the coffee dudes went on to serve other people.... (fast forwarding through all the people who must be served.)

By now almost everyone had been served. Will set Kyle down on the counter, and he busied himself making tea for Lavender, though Laurel had to handle the kettle.
Now that everyone was situated, Will Laurel moved to explain the situation.

Take's third eye glanced at the kid, followed by his other two. He rested his cup on the table and acknowledged the winged boy, "Yo kid" he said with a cocky expression.

He then raised an eyebrow at him just sitting there.

"You should blow on that instead of sticking your nose in it.." he advised quietly. Not intending to sound rude.
Kipps cheeks reddened, you look like an idiot. He scolded himself.

"If I blow there will be boogers in it." He answered, finally putting the cup down on the table to let it cool. He stared at the cup, the intended meaning behind Take's words clicking in to place. "Heh, Oh." He shook his head a crooked smile on his face. "Don't mind me I just always have feet in my mouth." He ducked his head putting his hand over his face. Why am I always so weird?

"Missouri. That's a long way from Maine." Colby looked over at the little man bravely traveling with the unwieldy tray and quickly shook his head. "It all looks really great, but I'm vegan and don't drink coffee." He shrugged and settled himself back into the booth properly, then raised his voice so that it carried to their resilient waiter. "Thanks anyway, sir."

"Weird is one way to put it..." She then took a step closer and looked at the girl with intent eyes, "of course I make it a big deal! Everyone's time is precious and limited-" She then remembered where they were and took a step back and bowed her head. "Never mind... Forget what I said. Just... Thank you for telling me whats going on." She scolded herself internally then lifted her head, realizing the girl was smiling at her, so she gave a nervous smile back. She looked over at the area where the drinks and snacks were, obviously excited to get a tea. Hopefully theres bubble tea... Or at least a green tea... She then looked back at the girl and shifted her feet at her question. "Aye..." She replied slowly, a tinge of Scottish accent breaking through. "From here?... I'm not sure where 'here' is... I'm from Scotland."

Take stared at Kipp, watching his movements, and noticing that he was a shy and awkward one. Just like himself when he was younger. He felt a bit of remorse for wanting to mess with the kid.
Take flashed a toothy grin.
“Hey no worries”
“What’s your name?” he questioned, extending his arm out to shake the winged boy’s hand.
