THE MOTHER'S DAY HATCH-A-LONG!!!! The last day to join in and set eggs with us is April 28th.

I am planing to set in a couple hours. I need some last minute guide lines if you please.

I am following the guide for setting them for 12 hours to rest. Into the bator for the first 7 days with no turner on.

Here are my questions before I start.

What temp? (100?) What Humidity? (40?) Also should I candle them before I stick them into the bator? Should they all have SOME air cell right now or will it develope in the 7 days?

OK I can help with this! first off, is your incubater a still air or does it have a fan in it?

learning and watching for answers!

Its a brinsea one. Its my families so im not sure on all the specs. I think its forced air? Its automated. Did that help... even a little LOL

if it's forced air, THEN NO! YOU DO NOT WANT THE TEMP TO GO OVER 99.5F the 103.0F is for still air! Humidity needs to be 30% for a dry hatch then for lock-down it needs to be 50-60% or if you just want to try normal then it needs to be 55% until lock-down then it needs to go to 60-70%

Dry hatch allows more moisture to evaporate from the egg. Bigger air cell, membrane become papery, so it's easier for the chick to hatch out of it. However you MUST have the higher humidity for the last few days so the membrane doesn't dry out too much and stick to the chick, which will keep it from hatching and kill it.
