Rest in Peace 1963-2021
Okay they had finally gotten to crowded in my garden tub and I was tired of bleaching and scrubbing the tub every morning so I have moved them to newer bigger digs in the safety of the garage for the nights.
When I was brooding my 6 very spoiled chickens last year, as they got older they moved from tote, to big box to portable hot tub frame. So out came my hot tub frame again (I really should be using it for a hot tub but the animals seem to need it when I do).
Their pool is inside the hot tub frame which gives them a secure wall around them so they do not get out and get into anything cute and SHINY in the garage like a stray screw or something.
They are loving it, I on the other hand am a nervous ninny and am constantly running outside to check on them...it is going to be a long night I think.
Here they are:
Overall view of the setup
Them checking it out
They have a 1.5 gallon waterer and 2 deep dishes of water to dunk heads and a tray feeder. Oh and heat lamp to go on before I go to bed.
Content duckie
Bedding down for the night
So, in the morning they go out to the chicken tractor and their little tub to play in and I shall carry the pool straight to the compost pile and back to garage. I think they will be very happy in the new digs with more room and a very dry place to sleep as opposed to everything getting wet. And I know they are safe. YAY!
