So, I have had some egg eating going on, because one of starlight green eggers have been laying eggs with a hole in them. We're working on solving that issue, but for the moment it has been a race to the nest box each morning.

I finally got it in my head to blow and egg and fill it with mustard, like I had heard to do. It wasn't as easy as it sounds, but luckily we have an egg blowing kit and a lot of patience.

I placed the green mustard egg back in the nesting boxes. I walked off, but not too far before I heard a hen screeching in the coop. I thought she was hurt, and ran back over. My california white was on the top roost clucking her head off, with the mustard egg below her on the floor of the coop. She didn't realize she was incriminating herself since she was too busy being mad that her tasty treat had turned into something so revolting! I could not believe how loud she was squawking, I guess mustard eggs work sometimes.

I felt so victorious all day....

A big "W" for your side! That must have been a huge surprise on that girl :gig
