the mutant egg!!!

my chickens all started laying in the past few weeks. they all arent quite regular yet though. so last night I walk out to the coop to check the nesting boxes and find a HUGE egg. I mean its got to be 3x normal size. So we crack it open for breakfast and...plop, another normal size egg drops out along with an additional yolk. What in the world does this mean? What is going on with my chickens?

Did it have two separate shells or was it a double yolker?

two seperate shells, there was a yolk for the big one and then an entirely seperate egg inside it with its own yolk!!!!

Wic8838. I have a really old like 10+ years old and her eggs she's a olive egger look just like that DO NOT WORRY IT JUST SOMETIMES HAPPENS

Thanks. My Chickens are around 8 months old and this is only the second egg that has had a problem.

Wow ive never got any like that ive had egg layers some days lay really small eggs but not that.

I just hope I never find one like this... it might freak me out!
