I just got this chick yesterday and my best guess is that she is a Barred Rock cross, though WHAT she is crossed with is a complete mystery to me. I picked her out because when I first laid eyes on her, I thought she looked like a pigeon. Up close she is absolutely beautiful. She is the only chicken I have ever seen with a pink beak, legs and comb. She is lovely. Anyone have a guess as to what she is? I may be way off on the Barred Rock, but I think that's what she is at least half of. What breeds of chicken have pink beaks and legs? Thanks to everyone that helps me solve this mystery. By the way, we named her Mystery!

Here are a few pics of her:

Oh no...not another roo...
Sigh***
Guess I will just have to wait and see how he gets along with my other roos. It's wierd cause my Barred Cochin roo REALLY likes this bird.

Ok, I took this chick outside so my neighbor could get a look at her, and she too was impressed by how beautiful my little baby is. I mentioned my theory to her about this baby possibly being a Barred Rock cross, and then I also said that I had begun to suspect a possible Cuckoo Maran cross because she has more of a cuckoo pattern than a barred pattern to her feathers. She also mentioned that my bird has a particularly large head for a 7 week old chick. She, or he, is an absolutely lovely bird. It has blue eyes, my only baby with blue eyes.
Here is a pic I took this afternoon of her/him:

BTW, my neighbor thinks it's a hen. She is nearly 8 weeks old now, so wouldn't her comb be bigger and either darker pink or starting to turn red? All my roos have MUCH larger, and darker, combs than this baby does. Anything anyone can tell me about what they think this chick is, I'd love to hear. Thanks everyone!

Just for comparison, here are some of my cockerels, all who are a week younger than this mystery chick:

This is Buddy, my Bantam Barred Cochin roo:

Here is Abner my Bantam Splash Cochin roo:

And my SLW roo Sir Wyandotte a.k.a. Baby:

I have other roos, it's just not easy to get all of them to stand still long enough to get their picture taken, lol.

Does everyone still think this baby is a roo? I am REALLY hoping it's a pullet...
