I am, unfortunatley, using the DLM for my Ringneck Pheasant. It is the best way to not put stress on the birds by changing the bedding. I have about a good 4-6 inches of pine shavings, small amounts of food, and lots and lots of POOP. I was wondering if I could let it compost, mix it with chicken poop and other composible materials as well. I would then use it on my garden. How would pheasant manure work? If it won't work with just straight up pheasant manure I will deffinatley mix it with chicken poop. Also, how long would it take to break down? I would obviously mix it with soil, cow manure, horse manure, etc. I will give it a shot. It seems like it will work. I meen, how much different can it be from chicken, or duck poop? I forgot to add: When I mix it with other "ingredients" will it neutral out the salmonella? If not is there a way to get rid of that awful, awful, awful bacteria?
