We have four 10 month old pullets, and due to a combination of late starters and winter free loaders we didn't have our first four egg day until this past Tuesday. I was pretty excited.
Then today, two days later, we get three eggs. But one is them... doesn't quite match.
The top row are our eggs from two days ago. Our bottom row is today. That egg on the bottom left, as you can see, doesn't have a match. We've gotten eggs that color before, I think. I know eggs can gradually get lighter between molts, but that's a pretty drastic change.
They're both speckled: maybe the pigment didn't spread evenly on the light one and ended up as heavy speckles? I dunno. I'm stumped.
