Claura frowned. "You forgot?" she sounded offended. "It's the restaurant." She thought of the meeting. "They're going to be doing some remodeling in the dinning room, so most of the meeting was about that.""that's wonderful! What are you doing again? Sor3ry if you told me already, I kind of forgot." She glanced up at him. "I'm not scared of your threats, only motives, strange man. I don't have time for foolery. Is the mercantile nearby or have you wasted our night away?""I'm sorry," he spoke louder. "That store owner has been very good to me. I threatened you because I don't know you and I wouldn't want you hurting him. Especially because I'm the one who lead you there."

"500 nails in three days?" Claura exclaimed, nearly forgetting herself. "How is that even humanly possible? Did you do it all yourself?" She shivered at the thought of how much pain Adeen's hands must be in. "You poor thing," she added, shaking her head.(ok)
"Ah, yes. The restaurant. Sorry, I've been up most nights in the forge. I had an order of 500 nails to be done in 3 days, and those things are fiddley!"
Jintao looked at her with sadness in his eyes. What has happened to you, he wondered. "I'm sorry if I came across that way," he said. "I was only trying to help." He looked over his shoulder as they walked further away from the store. That was the mercantile. She glanced up at him. "I'm not scared of your threats, only motives, strange man. "It's humanly possible if you have help, or are staying up all night. It's fine. I slept until noon this morning. That's why I put a sign up in the shop today. Closed.""500 nails in three days?" Claura nodded her head, still trying to imagine Adeen doing all of those nails. "You're amazing- honestly amazing," she said after a few moments of silence. "I could never survive doing what you do." She sled a white glove off her hand and looked at her palm. "I couldn't imagine getting blisters. They must be dreadfully painful.""It's humanly possible if you have help, or are staying up all night. It's fine. I slept until noon this morning. That's why I put a sign up in the shop today. “I’m really not. Just up against a family that doesn’t have anything to do with the forge. “ She looked down at Claura’s pale peach hand. Slender, beautiful, perfect for a young lady. Adeen’s were hard, blistered, and darkened from the ashes. Not a perfect young lady’s at all. “You get used to the blisters after a while. But they do hurt at night.”Claura nodded her head, still trying to imagine Adeen doing all of those nails. "You're amazing- honestly amazing," she said after a few moments of silence. "Not to sound rude, but you should really quit and get a job like mine," she said bluntly. She slid her hand back into her glove as though the very air would get it dirty. "Or," she nodded to a passing-by family. "You could get a man and have him help you. There's no good reason for you to do this all alone. In fact, it's madness!"“I’m really not.
