@_-Captain BRM-_"I was expecting you to be a bit later. You've exceeded my expectations, Jintao, well done."
The siren pushed off the beam, dropping back into the water, the white fabric drifting ghostly in the black sea beneath her dark hair.
"Allow me a few minutes to change, yes? I'll meet you both back here."
Nautalis gave Jintao a small salute before twisting and diving beneath the surface again, the flick of a turquoise tail sending a small fizz of silver bubbles simmering on the water's skin.

(They can chat just a bit if you want and then we can time jump to her coming back)
Jintao kept his stance with his gaze locked on Nautalis. He held his blade in an awkward way in front of him, ready to strike if needed. "You know her better than I do," he said without looking away. Keeping one's stare on a threat was a part of survival for his past life which he continued to use.
"I was expecting you to be on the docks, not below them."
He slid a little closer to Tay. "This, is our ticket to a ship and the Undermine," he replied.

Tay stood in a moment of silence, dropping her hands back to her sides."I was expecting you to be a bit later. You've exceeded my expectations, Jintao, well done."

@Lacy DuckwingTay stood in a moment of silence, dropping her hands back to her sides.
"What kind of a ticket is that? Gosh. Gosh."
The closed box-knife slid easily into her dress, and she turned away, running fingers through her coarse hair.
"Tell me the plan. Please, explain the lunatical ideas you've concocted."
Jintao watched Nautalis leave. And I thought I was out of touch, and you're calling me "early?" he thought, almost disgusted. The siren truly didn't have any sailing experience if she didn't expect a pirate to wake before the sun. Weakness is what he viewed it as.Tay stood in a moment of silence, dropping her hands back to her sides.

(Do you want me to skip ahead to when Nautalis comes back?)Jintao watched Nautalis leave. And I thought I was out of touch, and you're calling me "early?" he thought, almost disgusted. "You were the one that was supposed to get us a ship and this is what happens when I'm left in charge."
Jintao hid the dagger back into his pocket more to avoid attention than to put it away. He brushed past Tay and watched the sun as it rose.
"She hired me as an alley. I'm to help her get to the Undermine and back." He glanced over his shoulder and lowered his voice. "I might not complete the mission, but I will be willing to get you to the Undermine if that's where you plan to stay. As far as returning here, it's probably best that I don't."
(I'll let @_-Captain BRM-_ decide on this. It doesn't matter to me either way, though, it might be helpful if Jintao and Tay straighten out their current situation first instead of skipping through it.)
