sorry for the late reply btwLupin's veins pounded with awe at the fire wreathing the air. Paws flinging up sand, she bulleted after the phoenix woman,
Tail lashing, she skidded and tumbled. Running on sand, apparently, was harder than it looked. Which it was. The drifts spun in random directions when she stepped on them, and the only thing that saved her was the wood of the docks beneath the sand.
Random people pointed at her, laughing and frowning respectively. The animalistic urges filled her, vying over each other, trying to push her toward them, to bite them, so that they might know her plight. (yes i know i sound like some 1800s author)
She didn't stop, though. She kept chasing the fiery birdwoman, kept running, racing, panting.
It occurred to her that these phoenixes could be doing basically anything menacing, such as spying for Landchester, leading her into a trap, or simply playing a practical joke.
Stamping down the annoying thoughts that were poking their thought-noses out of her head, she followed the phoenixes.
Her claws were, however, tightly crossed for good luck.
The docks opened ahead of them, sprawled in the intricate root system of planks and docked ship, the sails of the latter shrouded in the lifting morning fog and aglow with dawn light, turning them to fire.Lupin's veins pounded with awe at the fire wreathing the air. Ember cursed loudly in Harpy, rage and indignity flaring through her veins and making her hands and forearms smoke as her eyes glowed again.Lupin was quite a clumsy human, and although one might have thought her werewolf status might help with her haphazardness, that didn't seem to be the case. She skidded around the fishing hut and accidentally collided head-on with the girl phoenix. Heat flared in her cheeks and she tumbled backward.
Annnnd there goes my dignity, she complained inwardly.
GUYS EMBER NEEDS TO SET LUPIN ON FIREEmber cursed loudly in Harpy, rage and indignity flaring through her veins and making her hands and forearms smoke as her eyes glowed again.
She stood up sharply, wings twitching furiously as she glared coldly into the sage-green eyes of the massive canine.
"Coal," she snapped, redirecting her gaze to the Phoenix. "Were we followed?"

Coal landed lightly beside Ember. The docks opened ahead of them, sprawled in the intricate root system of planks and docked ship, the sails of the latter shrouded in the lifting morning fog and aglow with dawn light, turning them to fire.
Ember veered sharply, ducking behind the cover of a small fishing hut, flaring her wings to slow and twisting back, signaling for Coal and the Werewolf to suddenly stop.

I was too busy flying for my life, I have no idea if we were being followed! Coal thought. “I don’t think so,” he said unsteadily.Ember cursed loudly in Harpy, rage and indignity flaring through her veins and making her hands and forearms smoke as her eyes glowed again.
