It‘s a heck-of-a-lot of tags, isn’t it 💀

Vhanya stood at the foredeck, boot tapping lightly against the waxed boards, her yellow eyes flicking about the ship.
Without looking towards her, she gestured in Lichen’s direction.
”You’ll learn when it’s needed. Now, I need you to hunt down the Harpy fellow who left so suddenly, I’d like to have everyone in my sight by sundown; we’ll start with him.”

She started towards the aftercastle, and waved a hand at Raven for his attention.
”You’ll be my helmsman, I’ve no doubt you can steer a ship, you’ve got the arms of someone accustomed to a whipstaff.”
She slowed, looking to both Lichen and Raven, “you two can choose your own cabins for now, there are quarters in both the forecastle and aft.“
”You there, Eerie-“ she reached into her coat to procure a hefty bag of coin- “I want you to go and buy me a month’s worth of provisions, nothing more, nothing less. Tell them Marriott sent you and there won’t be any trouble.” She looked up to meet his gaze, “and don’t try running off, I think you’re smarter than to do so anyways.”

She tossed the sack of coins at his feet, then resumed walking towards the aftercastle, “I’m expecting results from the both of you by sunset!” She called, relishing the commanding tone her voice carried.

Vhanya made her way through the steerage to the cabins and stopped at the locked door of her own. From beneath the collar of her shirt she loosed a small necklace, a silver key dangling from its neat chain.
She unlocked the door with a satisfying click, taking care to shut it quietly behind her.

The cabin had gathered a layer of dust after her month’s absence, she stepped over to her desk and brushed it off as best as she was able, she made a note to herself to have the cabin tidied up before they set sail.
She turned fully around, smiling softly as her eyes travelled around the familiar room: The fine red curtains around their small window, which looked out onto the soft morning light that set the port’s waters a-sparkle: Her bookshelves, holding an assortment of maps, literature, and records kept: The small, comfortable bunk in the corner, and her hat hanging on its hook beside the door.

She stopped at the desk to light a candle, still sitting in its holder as it was a month ago, then sat down, pulling out the drawer of the desk to retrieve her logbook.

Raven glanced at Lichen before bending over and scooping the coins from the deck.
he held the sack in one hand for a moment, taking in its weight. If anyone swiped but a coin, he would know.
Stuffing it away into the folds of his cloak, he strode down the gangplank.
Pirates Cove was a rather unpleasant place night or day but the early morning was when, for the most part, the drunks were all passed out and the sober were sleeping.
Raven stepped over a muttering body as he walked along the fronts of the dingy buildings. Only a few had lights in their windows, many didn't even have windows for that matter.
He sidestepped a group of men holding fishing equipment and pushed the mercantile door open.
The clerk looked up from what he was doing and silently watched Raven walk up to the counter.
"Marriott sent me for a month's worth of provisions," he pulled the coins out and dropped them on the counter, "Have them delivered to the docs before sundown."
The clerk reached for the sack and Raven slammed a knife down inches from his arm and leaned over the counter, "if you try and cut corners with me," he muttered, "I swear, I'll come for you and all you hold dear." He straightened and turned towards the door.
"I don't take kindly to threats," he heard the click of a gun behind him.
"Well, good thing that wasn't a threat." Raven pulled the door open, "Pleasure doing business with you, sir," and he was gone.

(Edgy much?)

(Completely random, but is this the same clerk Jintao delt with?)

"Hm."
Ember slid along the wall of the fishing hut, stepping past the Werewolf and stopping at the corner of the small structure.
A pillar of grey smoke was wafting over the rooves of the town, stirring the morning fog, voices calling back and forth from the direction of the small fire.
Not my problem, the Harpy thought bitterly. They'll figure it out.
She turned sharply to face the Werewolf and Coal again, jabbing a clawed finger at the former.
"That was stupid. You should have known better than to be out when at risk of a changing. I saved you from the brunt of it, you can figure the rest out on your own."
Ember redirected her gaze to Coal.
"We may have to regroup at the ship. We can't go looking for recruits in that sector of the cove now, so we'll have to try somewhere else, somewhere farther."

@-Eridanus- (Maybe Lupin could get an idea about recruitment)

Lupin flared up instantly. Typically she wasn't as quick to anger as this, but her werewolf status was a touchy subject. "Well, I'm very, very sorry to be an inconvenience for you. Thank you so much for... ah, what, setting a fire? Pulling a dramatic line? I don't know how familiar you are with werewolves, but we are quite fast, and we're not pups- babies," she amended. (there i go again with ancient worm words) "I'm very sorry that I'm a mutant werewolf who changes whenever the lice-cursed moon is visible, and I do think that -- wait, ship?"

Lupin's annoyance was quenched instantly. "You're the crew of a ship?" she asked, eyes shining slightly. "I love ships! And boats too, but ships mostly. I have lots of books about ships and boats and pirates -- are you pirates? YOU'RE PIRATES, AREN'T YOU????????"

It was quite creepy, actually, if you had been peering around the fish hut. A large werewolf, hopping up and down and talking with a slight barky growl to her voice, two birdpeople who looked ready to do some stabbing and setting on fire, all surrounded by dead fish.
