-The Mythics RP-

Lupin flared up instantly. Typically she wasn't as quick to anger as this, but her werewolf status was a touchy subject. "Well, I'm very, very sorry to be an inconvenience for you. Thank you so much for... ah, what, setting a fire? Pulling a dramatic line? I don't know how familiar you are with werewolves, but we are quite fast, and we're not pups- babies," she amended. (there i go again with ancient worm words) "I'm very sorry that I'm a mutant werewolf who changes whenever the lice-cursed moon is visible, and I do think that -- wait, ship?"

Lupin's annoyance was quenched instantly. "You're the crew of a ship?" she asked, eyes shining slightly. "I love ships! And boats too, but ships mostly. I have lots of books about ships and boats and pirates -- are you pirates? YOU'RE PIRATES, AREN'T YOU????????"

It was quite creepy, actually, if you had been peering around the fish hut. A large werewolf, hopping up and down and talking with a slight barky growl to her voice, two birdpeople who looked ready to do some stabbing and setting on fire, all surrounded by dead fish.
"Keep. Your. Voice. Down."
Ember's voice hissed with rage, her clawed hands curling as she fought back the tidal wave of firey anger threatening to flood her composure.
"There's a lot more to pirates and sailing than you would know from mere 'books.' And no, I am not a pirate. I'm just working with one temporarily."
The Harpy straightened, falling silent for a long moment as she thought, staring at the wolf with the faint remnants of annoyance in her gaze.
"Why do you ask, specifically?"

“Yes, we are pirates!” Coal said excitedly. “And we are recruiting people, do you wanna join?”
Coal was not one for subtlety nor for beating around the bush.

Jintao's eyes met with Nautalis', but only for a moment. He looked down at the planks as his bitterness dug further into his being. Swim, he inwardly fumed. That was a task he'd never be able to do, even if he tried.
"Fair enough then." He looked back up, though he fixed his gaze further ahead instead of allowing it to fall on Nautalis. "We will walk, but don't be blaming me for your slacking."

Vhanya stood at the foredeck, boot tapping lightly against the waxed boards, her yellow eyes flicking about the ship.
Without looking towards her, she gestured in Lichen’s direction.
”You’ll learn when it’s needed. Now, I need you to hunt down the Harpy fellow who left so suddenly, I’d like to have everyone in my sight by sundown; we’ll start with him.”

She started towards the aftercastle, and waved a hand at Raven for his attention.
”You’ll be my helmsman, I’ve no doubt you can steer a ship, you’ve got the arms of someone accustomed to a whipstaff.”
She slowed, looking to both Lichen and Raven, “you two can choose your own cabins for now, there are quarters in both the forecastle and aft.“
”You there, Eerie-“ she reached into her coat to procure a hefty bag of coin- “I want you to go and buy me a month’s worth of provisions, nothing more, nothing less. Tell them Marriott sent you and there won’t be any trouble.” She looked up to meet his gaze, “and don’t try running off, I think you’re smarter than to do so anyways.”

She tossed the sack of coins at his feet, then resumed walking towards the aftercastle, “I’m expecting results from the both of you by sunset!” She called, relishing the commanding tone her voice carried.

Vhanya made her way through the steerage to the cabins and stopped at the locked door of her own. From beneath the collar of her shirt she loosed a small necklace, a silver key dangling from its neat chain.
She unlocked the door with a satisfying click, taking care to shut it quietly behind her.

The cabin had gathered a layer of dust after her month’s absence, she stepped over to her desk and brushed it off as best as she was able, she made a note to herself to have the cabin tidied up before they set sail.
She turned fully around, smiling softly as her eyes travelled around the familiar room: The fine red curtains around their small window, which looked out onto the soft morning light that set the port’s waters a-sparkle: Her bookshelves, holding an assortment of maps, literature, and records kept: The small, comfortable bunk in the corner, and her hat hanging on its hook beside the door.

She stopped at the desk to light a candle, still sitting in its holder as it was a month ago, then sat down, pulling out the drawer of the desk to retrieve her logbook.

"You misheard human. I have congratulated you on your punctuality. I only asked why, suddenly, you had seemed to lose your sense of urgency."
She stopped sharply on the boardwalk, readjusting her scarf as she turned toward the open docks.
"There she is."
The siren lifted a hand and gave a presenting wave to the frigate docked beside the pier. Polished black planks shone like onyx atop the gentle waves, the decks and trimmings highlighted with shining painted lines of silver. Light grey sails folded gently against the dark masts, as dragon wings furled for the resting beast. Before the bowsprit of the vessel, shining silver letters curled against its furnished wood.
Quicksilver.
"Right then." Nautalis dropped her hand again, propping it against her side as she turned to face Tay and Jintao. "Offer your complaints presently and we may move on to the next option, should you choose."
