Ember gave Coal a withering look before turning her cold gaze on the Werewolf.Lupin's eyes glowed. "Do you have an actual ship?" she asked, awestruck.
That's your most pressing concern? Lupin's mind said snarkily.
Shut up, me, Lupin replied.
Then she turned to the other harpy, the one who had used fire like a phoenix had.
"I know more than you think. I know the ropes of a ship, and the different sails and all the cannons. I can tell you how to sail in a strong wind and anything else you can ask for. I ask because my grandfather sailed on a ship, and my grandmother, and both their fathers too. My father was scared of the ocean," she added, sounding rather disgusted. "Also, I'm very tired of hunting for a living. I'd much rather live on a ship, where things happen and there's no stupid poison sumac everywhere you turn and you never get GORED by stinking villagers who think you're a demon for you-know-where."
She crossed her arms with finality, forgetting that a large furry upright wolf cannot cross its arms. The result was anything but serious and mature.
"You're not my problem, so if you want a spot on a ship, then I'll let the captain deal with you."
The Harpy flared her wings, glancing around the corner of the fishing hut again before turning back to Coal.
"I don't suppose you happened to grab the cloaks on the way out."
