Hormones. I haven’t been able to keep most of my cockerels to this point but my understanding is that it happens and they chill out a bit later. If you really like him you can try working with him. If not, Sesame chicken dinner sounds good.

It's his first offense. All thr older birds seemed irritated this morning. I think i wasn't prompt enough about letting them out. He gets a defetrd judgement.
 
I find that it takes 18 months for most cockerels to completely mature both physically and hormonally. That’s why I wait when choosing a cockerel for breeding. I narrow it down to usually two when they reach 1 and keep my best options until 18 months to make my final decision.
