The Never-ending Raccoon thread. (BOBCAT CONFIRMED PAGE 15)

you know you guys could make a fine meal of those coons! I have recipes...LOL

I'm currently trying to catch a huge coon that keeps digging to get to my chickens, so far it has been unsuccesful, tonight it is peppermint candies, and carmels...LOL:lol:

No it isn't. Coon is worse.

Nothing worse than something so intelligent and have enough dexterity to fiddle with locks and latches. I'd hate to live somewhere that has primates as pests and predators. Could you imagine trying to keep a troop of chimps out of your chicken coop?!?

I also believe that a bobcat is a ground dwelling critter with limited climbing abilities, coons will scale right up a coop wall. Cats usually aren't big on digging in either, coons get in anyway the little buggers can.

Coons are social animals, especially where food is plentiful. Cats tend to stay to themselves, occasionally a mom and kittens, but that's about it.

I would much rather have a bobcat than a family of coons.

LMAO. Just sayin..

had another coon in the trap this morning.

baits that work: eggs, catfood, leftover crablegs

Crablegs make sense! One of a coon's most natural foods is crawfish, so I can definately see them being attracted to some yummy crablegs. Lucky you don't live closer to me, you might have found me in that trap with a tub of melted butter and a content grin on my face! LOL

This is pretty amazing! What's the score now? Beefy, what are you doing with the coons? And where are you putting them all?

well, after the mystery animal flipped my trap and i hadnt caught anything for a few nights, i moved my trap underneath my pear tree b/c a limb that was so heavy with pears had fallen and i figured they would attract a lot of animals. before that it was underneath a pecan tree. (coons also love a big pile of pecans btw).

Beefy see it now, coon fur coat trim in possum, chicken down feathers for stuffing. thats going to be one warm coat
