Lately I've looked at more coops than I care to admit. I have to build one so I'm searching for ideas. But from what I've seen some folks seem to build as though they are going to rent them out. I really mean they're more detail than my house. Some I've looked at I know have cost upward of $ 2,000. And all for an egg? Why? I have an idea of what I want to build but I don't care to embarrass my chicken's. What if I build something they won't use.
Ole rooster

Ole rooster, it's a chicken coop. They'll use it. It doesn't HAVE to be pretty! As long as they have somewhere to be out of the elements and enough space, they'll be fine. Believe me, I've had some pretty tobacco road looking get ups in the past. And in all honesty, the coop I have now I'd have done differently had I come in here BEFORE I got my chicks. But as usual, I put the cart before the horse and had a non chicken owner build the coop. It's built like Ft Knox, but too small really. But it'll do. They're chickens.
