Hey everyone, thanks for the comments. The coop is actually very level. The ground underneath is not. It's hard to tell in those close up shots.
I thought about leveling the area off, but I really need all the help I can when it come to drainage. Also since the right half will be housing for my PBP I needed to keep her end as close to the ground as possible. The chicken end being higher up will give them a shady place to hang out, and keep the air flowing.
As for the lumber... It's all rough sawn native wood from a nearby mill. I really prefer the look of rough sawn lumber for exposed applications. It gives any project a ton of character. It also means less waste and energy used in milling since it hasn't been kiln dried.
