There is a small gap between the floor boards (screw used as a spacer) and one corner is cut out and had hardware cloth placed with their water container over it.
The roof started at hip height.
Their house has now been added to the bottom of the chicken house (same concept, but higher and the ends open to hose out). So now the ends of the duck house open and it is hosed out. Flooring is fence boards now and installed tight next to each other (though they shrink a tiny bit and create some gap) - but just hose it out.
The only bedding they get is in their bin, so not in the rest of the hut.
