Have fun!We are camping at hubby’s cousins lake place for the weekend so I need to get things ready. I am not looking forward to it due to the humidityI am so over it!
What are you up to?
I’ll do my bestHave fun!
That is funny! Nuit took her 6 up on the roost at 3 weeks, a week earlier than I expected. She cut them loose 2 weeks ago at 6 weeks. They are 8 weeks and ready to roost, but she makes them go to the nest box every night.
Before moving to where we are now I helped out another breeder by taking his less beautiful babies, or ones that needed saving (inexperienced parents often make mistakes) to hand raise. He's no longer breeding cockatiels (he was finding it too much around shift work) but he does have other birds that are happy just to breed once a season.Very interesting! How long have you been doing it?

Last summer was the first time I did it for myself. Just yesterday a pair I have separated off were checking out the nestbox. The hen isn't hand raised but because most of our other birds are she's become pretty tame and she's very smart and cheeky. Her partner is a bit of a character too. He's hand raised and makes me laugh when he dances in slow motion.
Hi everyone! It's howling a gale here again. The wind woke me up a few times in the night. I'm wondering how the electric fencing tape has held up in the wind. Hopefully we don't have cows and sheep wandering about! It's still dark here so I can't see anything yet.
Nope - had more than enough rain. Its definitely been wetter than last winter as we have boggy areas that were dry last winter. I'm a bit over the mud.I'm looking forward to seeing some little ones soon!
Do you need the rain Jae? Hope your electric tape has held up.
