Testing is not required now for those vaccinated. That will start on Sept. 20th. Un vaccinated are tested every 4 days.Oh wow, they're still requiring tests even if you're vaccinated?

The cold made it's way into our house last week. I am convinced it was the "summer cold". Kept the kids home, got us tested (negative) at a location the school recommended. Protocols are changing faster than anyone can keep up. Kids and I have a productive cough, feels like the last stretch of this cold. Called one of the schools.... they claim our test was a rapid test, might need to get retested - even after explaining it wasn't but it was a place they told me to go. Called the other school, they had no clue rapid tests weren't accepted and said just to keep them posted on the return.
I am trying to stay uplifted but this lack of solid direction is annoying
He loves to bake with my mom. I have less patience for the mess but I tried yesterday
DH said there was a bit of our L.O. in every muffin...with all the finger-licking and re-touching batter
It's good though! We didn't get to the topping but it still turned out good.

I now have 3 bantams nesting in trees!
And 2 broody Araucana hens! Our old ones never went broody.
1 Araucana is being rather bossy and grumpy. The other is very quiet and I actually thought she was dead when I saw her slumped in the nestbox. At the time the kids were with me and I didn't want to draw attention to the fact that she could possibly be dead, so we went back to the house and I quietly slipped out again with a plastic bag to put her in. I grabbed her tail to haul her out of the box and it went through my mind that she was still warm. Then she growled at me.

I don't know, thus far, I've just been too weak, to make a 30 minute drive to get tested. I'm still sniffling this morning and it's been over a week since I've felt well.
I found a comparison chart, and honestly, I think I may have a bad cold, although I have had fever, chills, headache, and aches. I've had a cough too, but a wet cough, not dry. Oh my goodness, I'm sounding like a hypochondriac!
I miss coffee in the mornings, but it just tastes awful. I probably should give it up completely, since I get about 300 calories a day from added cream.

I'm counting my blessings. I'm in a lovely and peaceful place, with good air quality. My children and grands, are all safe and happy.
Nowadays, you can't ask for much more.
