The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

DH is coming home today so I've been cooking. When I'm here by myself I don't do much (if any) of that but it doesn't seem right to feed him cheese & crackers so I cook.

What are you up to Mad?
Procrastinating šŸ™„ lol

Thats what I eat when I'm alone :lau that is so sweet of you to do that for him. Will he be able to stay for a little bit before heading back to the golf course?

Look at that baby face! :love
Thanks Jae, they have an upright posture like runners which I’m happy about. Dad is a Blue Swedish black Runner mix. One already has a name, the little one that’s grey and yellow is Debby :gig
The perfect name for such a cutie. 🄰 I'd love to see how they feather out. They look like they'll be super pretty.

One of our pullets that was nesting in a tree came down for breakfast and next thing I could hear chicks peeping. It wasn't until she climbed back up that I could see where her nest is. DH is about to climb up the ladder and rescue them!

Procrastinating is one of my hobbies too :gig

DH is planning on staying until Tuesday morning unless something unexpected happens down at the course.

Tell your hubs to be careful climbing up to get the chicks! An accident doing that might be hard for other people to understand.

Good morning everyone ,. Debby , Janie , We have minnows in the ditches around here , native grass pike , chubs , green sunfish , Mud minnows , to name a few . Have a wonderful day .
Wow, Mark, I never knew, that there were so many types of minnows!
Good MOOrning Debby, Sour, rjohns, Grammy, IM, Mark :frow

Good morning Janie :frow did you make the big pond, too or was it already there?
The big pond, almost 2 acres, was here when we bought the place. It was so grown up here,
then, that we had to cut through the brush to find it. Our criteria, was to find a place in the countryside, that had a water view, and room for the dogs to run. We lucked out.
My husband gradually enlarged the 2nd part of the pond, added dams, culverts, and bridges. This will be the 4th pond, but it will flow via waterfall into the large pond. We have several springs.

Don't forget the pictures! I hope he is careful.
Maybe the minnows swam up stream to the new pond.
I guess so, we can't think of any other way that they could get there, unless birds dropped a few dozen pregnant minnows in there. šŸ˜† It is strange.
Mark, are there any salmon minnows? šŸ¤”

Glad your rabbit was safe!

Your cows have lots of personality. I did not know new time mothers could be such helicopter moms but, I suppose that's how a lot of first-time moms are. I like Jacky's name :p shes gotta be my favorite :D

I love cows šŸ’œ

:love thank you for letting me save the pictures :) they're just so adorable, and great quality.
The funniest thing with Jacky is she has a white spot right on her butt. She has very cute markings. She does have an air of mischief about her though.

Her mother was actually happy to just eat hay and watch her play this morning. Hopefully she's calming down. :fl

Earlybird is kind of my favourite because I desperately wanted her to be a girl. Her father was a Salers (pronouned Sa-lair) which is a very old French dual purpose breed that thrives on pasture only and is still milked today.

And here are our 5 little rescues. I didn't have another waterer to set their mother up with them in a cage (as she still wants to be in the tree on the remaining pile of eggs) so I've just put them in with the older bantam chicks we have and they are perfectly happy now.
