I may do that, @janiedoe. The other thing I was thinking was to use a softer shade of yellow in the kitchen, then use that shade along with brighter ones for accents in the gray living room to tie both rooms together. My daughter Tam is a self-taught artist, and she’s done some paintings for our new home. With the poppies, she did the same basic painting, but with 3 slightly different backgrounds and in 3 different sizes, saying that I could decide which one(s) I wanted after I’ve finally settled on colors. These are the paintings -

They look kinda dull and flat in photos, but I have 2 of them here now and they are anything but.

And for the short wall opposite the pheasant quilt I did and hung above the glass quilt display case, I’m hoping she’ll get this one finished and let me talk her out if it -

It will go on the wall opposite this display. The colors are so close.
So I think if I just go with what I really like in paint colors then tie the rooms together by using warm, bright colors as accents, I might like the results.
Opinions?
I love her artwork! Those are so beautiful, and I love the thought of pale yellow with them. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do.
