Hows spring there? If rain is avoidable :p

Nice! Has the weather been nice?

Ooooooo! I bet the new chair will be more convenient.

Do you have any mexican restaurants?
No, no such thing in my area about 50 miles away but I don't know how good they are. Maybe I'll get there one day :)
I love tacos, period! Now I'm craving some. Tonight, we are meeting my moms friends son & family and she says Wing Stop is for dinner.
:drool
I'm with you, I could go for one right now  with some tacos.

OMG, you made me choke on my coffee!

Just take it as a compliment DMC :lau
I was sure glad to get out of there today. We were short on staff today and it was chaotic at times. The rest of the week doesn’t look much better. We ended the day with our triple shower, which was fun.

It is about 15 miles. There are no chargers close to my building but a plug in hybrid that goes 50 miles would work.

Sadly PGE is raising our already high electric cost more than 10% this month. Solar could help, but I would need to charge at night.
My Prius Prime is EPA "rated" for 25 miles electric, 650 mile total range (and yes I CAN go that far on a tank of gas). In the cold depths of winter I get maybe 20 miles. In the REALLY cold depths, like below 15°F, the gas engine runs anyway. Not sure why. In any case it then runs as a regular hybrid. Current tank of gas is still 1/3 full, 650 miles at 95 MPG. In warmer weather, like you have, I can get 35+ miles all electric if I'm off the interstate. 25,000 on the odometer, 132 MPG. That is a total of 190 gallons of gas, a vehicle getting 25 MPG would have used 1,000 gallons. No idea how much electricity was used because the car doesn't report that.

It still does amazing when running fully hybrid. I once went about 70 miles from a rest area on I-91 to home. Other than a short few miles of interstate it was all 50 MPH down to stop in towns, back to 50. Got home at nearly 80 MPG for that leg.

Somewhere I have a picture of the dash showing over 75 MPG, 300 miles from home to Bangor with no stops (other than traffic controls of course) including the final 15 miles on I-95 at 75 MPH. The rest was the same 50 MPH down to stops in towns type roads through Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine.

Even if you didn't get all the way to work and back on electric you would use very little gas daily. You can see if PG&E has "time of use" rates. My sister in So. Cal charges her Prime on 110V (it takes 5 hours) overnight. The battery is only 6.6 kWH. We have an EV charging station at the house, the power company has a special rate if you use it off peak - 9 PM to 1 PM weekdays, 24 hours on weekends. Instead of the usual $0.17+ per kWh it is just over $0.13. We sell our excess solar power at the $0.17 rate so it only makes sense to "make" $0.04/kWh by charging off peak ;) If fully drained the Prius battery takes 2 hours to charge on a Level 2 charger.

If UCD happens to have any 110V outlets you can park near, you could charge while at work (assuming they are good with that) and only use gas when you go father than the electric range.

DW and I were in So. Cal early March 2020, got thrown out of Dad's retirement community when Covid hit. My sister filled up her car and took us to the airport. Since no one was going anywhere distant that year, she put gas in her car again in Feb 2021. Yes, almost an entire year to use 10 gallons of gas. Most everything was within electric range.

BTW, the car will (theoretically, I personally wouldn't know) do 80 MPH on just the electric motor. Smooth and quiet though your range would be seriously reduced.

I've started taking short walks after caring for the chickens 😁.
Spring is coming, you can go for longer walks :)

I'm sure he'll get the hang of arguing for an opposing view soon.
If he wants to be a trial lawyer! They don't care about facts, they care about controlling the proceedings so they win.

So everything is good, but at times... my life feels like a poorly written movie of the week. :th
It sure does! Better you than me Chrissy, I don't think I could handle it.

Just don't come in the summer🥵🔥 otherwise it's perfect.
Given where she lives I doubt there is a lot of difference between your summer and hers.

My oldest children loved a
( long discontinued) cartoon called Earthworm Jim..the theme song is running through my head. 🤣
AND now you have an ear(earth)worm running through your head.

Thing is, if you've never had REAL Mexican food, you won't know if it is any good or not. Taco Bell is NOT real Mexican food.

Our bills are going up in April, so I'm topping up my energy for the rest of this month so I get as much value as I can

@grammy
It's great you will be getting out and about at long last ❤️

I just know I would love Mexican food because I adore spicy foods.
People laugh at me around my town because put a heap of black pepper on almost everything I eat when I'm in the cafe. :drool
🤔 I think I will leave a pot of cayenne pepper behind the counter on my next visit

@Madhouse Pullet our springs are generally our rainy season. We flood in spring and drought in Summer and sometimes fall too.
You’re hilarious Debby  I had an older kid salute me the other day in the bus line. I wonder what he was trying to tell me🤔
Probably just a sign of respect.
Or maybe he just knows you love birds.
I didn't know that was a cartoon? I used to love the video game :D

Thanks for the information on the prius!
