Good morning, Everyone. Boys played baseball yesterday and won 5/4. Umpires were over an hour late due to some sort of miscommunication. It's an 88 mile drive and Maggie Mae was home alone so we left after the seventh inning. Apparently the game was called because of darkness after the eighth.

Other than that, my mom had surgery and she's out for 6-8 weeks so she said I can use her car for at least the next two months.

Sorry she had to have surgery but it is nice to have time to look at your options rather than feeling like you have to jump at the first thing.

Given the price of gas, especially in Calif, time to think about a hybrid or plug-in hybrid. If your family has another "long range" vehicle look at all electric. DW has been driving a Nissan Leaf (215 mile range) the last 1.5 years. 70 miles 6 days a week, charge overnight. Don't give a rat's ... about the price of gas Nothing is as nice as smooth, quiet and instant power.

My Prius Prime has used less than 200 gallons of gas in 25,000 miles. Would be a lot less if it weren't for the 425 mile round trips to MA twice a year and the 1,200 mile round trips to New Brunswick, Canada (DD1 at university) plus the "meet halfway" trips so she doesn't have to drive the entire 600 straight through. She really doesn't like to drive and 600 miles is hard on her. Personally I couldn't do it anymore, getting old!

She's graduating this year so we only need to go at the end of April to move her out of her apartment then back mid May for graduation (whose stupid idea was it to not have graduation right after school gets out?????)

Update on my car.
Had to go through uninsured motorists and got back $3200. They returned my car and said I can sell it to a salvage yard for extra cash. So far that's the plan but I'm having a hard time parting with it now
I have time to think about it, thankfully; just gotta decide what route I'll take in getting another car. I don't want a loan but I want something reliable ⚖
