It surprises me that it’s so warm that late where you are. With a place big enough for a pond I imagined you’d cool off at night pretty well. Here we have a heat island from all the cement and asphalt. I’m trying to grow a ton of shade in the backyard but unfortunately that’s not instant.

We usually do cool off at night, but not this summer. Our big pond is at least 2 to 3 foot shallower than last summer. It is still cooler down by the water. It feels like it drops several degrees in the shade.
I just went out and made mud for the chickens again. Some of them are staying in the big coop in front of the fans. I just feel hot air coming out, but the old rooster loves the fans, so his girls stick with him.

Just got a text message from my youngest grandson: "Happy Birthday, Pa, sorry I can't make dinner tonight." Umm, Rob, it was supposed to be a secret. I was pretty sure they were trying to surprise me because my phone has been very inactive today, but Robert just confirmed that fact.

Now DH is back, attempting to put together a desk. The volume of his @#$@@! is getting a bit loud so I'm hanging out back in my office
