The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Well to be fair it’s a mile down the road, I found a parking spot right away, a self checkout almost immediately and I only had a few things to put away.

OAN, I just ordered Lavender Ameracauna chicks to ship in February. Igor is gonna kill me. I think 4 or 5 of these chicks that Stella hatched are cockerels.
On Saturday mornings when I shop at the neighborhood Walmart, the self checkout for large baskets is closed!

They were open before the pandemic and it was very helpful.

Morning DMC, it's time to get some kitchen stuff done! I never did get my pies made yesterday, so that's first up for me.
I will start cinnamon rolls for Tday breakfast and likely prep potatoes, green beans and make the cranberry sauce.

Of course I may need to put the turkey into a sink of water for a couple of hours.

If my basket is full I figure they make enough money off me to pay someone to check out my groceries lol.

Agreed!

I avoid the self check out as much as possible. Invariably, something goes wrong and I have to wait for an employee to come along anyway. Might as well let them do the whole check out process.

Well I was behind 5 days again. Didn't skip ahead so I know to say
Happy Belated Birthday @Cynthia12 !!

I have a Pip too
Best not let him meet @janiedoe's pip

Good morning Debby, in my mind I'm going to Carolina. 🎶🎵
If you let your mind wander farther you can end up at Debby's place in Florida

Looks more like a pumpkin pie to me Mark (cherry would be better though)!
Definitely!

Has anyone started cooking yet? I put the turkey breast in the fridge to start thawing and hope to get the pie crusts done today (hope being the operative word).
DDs made the apple and pumpkin pies yesterday. I picked up the turkey, it was still running around on Monday :)

Sunshine Protection Act
Which is a ridiculous name. They aren't protecting any sunshine; clocks and time zones are man made devices that do not affect the amount of sun.

I did a quick check, as of Nov. 10th it's still pending:
"Earlier this year, the senate unanimously passed legislation known as the Sunshine Protection Act, which would effectively eliminate the seasonal changing of the clocks. But the measure still needs to pass the House and be signed by President Joe Biden before it is fully approved."

Maybe there's something newer out there?
I agree with Bruce, it’s ridiculous.

The reasoning behind AZ not doing it is that it’s hot as hades here and supposedly springing forward would impact energy use. Ridiculous, but I’ll take it because I don’t like the time change.
