Good morning Debby, IM, DMC, Blooie, Janie, Mark & Susie, Bob & Sue, and Sour!! Our last Friday of 2022.

It could have been a possum. They were a problem this summer/fall. Our dog killed 10 of them in our chicken coop.

He’s lucky the weather was mild. He lived to tell his story. It took 20 minutes to get him out of there. As you can see, he got himself stuck. This combine belongs to the farmer my youngest helps out through the year.

I hate how cute AND destructive they are. It's so conflicting to not want it to die but knowing it might be havoc for someone else. Ughh

Does anyone have plans for New Year’s Eve? We’re likely going to be asleep well before midnight, but unless it rains we’ll be awake again at midnight from all the fireworks the neighbors set off. I always worry one of them will catch the coop on fire.

DH loves fireworks but, I'm not a fan because I'm always worried about accidents or mishaps. Even with the legal ones people can be so s*u*i*,... like the time our neighbor almost caught their grass on fire on 4th of July

DH loves fireworks but, I'm not a fan because I'm always worried about accidents or mishaps. Even with the legal ones people can be so s*u*i*,... like the time our neighbor almost caught their grass on fire on 4th of July

I'm going to try and stay up for new years eve with DH & the boys but I usually don't make it passed 10pm.

I used to do the same when my boys were little. The kids used to have fun wearing homemade party hats and staying up late.

I'll me in bed - the Princess will be watching one of the festivities on television. Sunday I plan on cooking a standing rib roast and we will most likely watch some football games.

Nothing different than any other night for us. We'll be sound asleep by 9 or 9:30

Good morning Mad. I have found quite a few bottle rockets in the yard near the coop so I know what you mean. If the neighbors light their own house on fire that’s fine, but not my chickens. I might have to beat someone up for that.

We never go out on any holidays, too many drunks to take chances. For New Year’s Eve the public transportation system is free of charge so there’s that.

No problem!! The ball drops in Times Square NYC at 9 PM your time.

I would have to drive 25 miles to get somewhere that has public transportation, free or not. Staying home, as we have done most every year since they stopped having the ice skating show. My daughter was in it for quite a few years.

Good afternoon @Madhouse Pullet, I have to tell you something and it's very hard for me to even say. Susie passed away on the 8th of November. She was a great wife, mother, and cook, and my son and I miss her so much.
