The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Ooooh, love me big platter of beer-battered walleye!  It's my very favorite fish of all!  Growing up if Dad didn't get it out hunting, fish it out of a lake, or Ma didn't grow it in the garden, we didn't have it!  The only exception was pig cheeks....Ma would buy them from the John Morrell meat packing plant via an uncle who worked there and we LOVED them. I was 17 years old when I tasted ham for the very first time.  Yep, very first!  And I was already an old married woman!  Ken's mother made a big old ham when we were visiting the ranch.  I thought I'd died and gone to heaven!!

Taunting a traumatized Blooie with the photo of a platter full of goodness is not a nice thing to do, you know!  :lau

Sorry Blooie

I go to St Cloud a couple times a year....takes us a little over 2 hours to get there.

I guessed right. I have been to Appleton a few times and we use to go by it when my Son lived in Aberdeen. (on 12)...
My stop out that way is the "Men's Toy" store in Benson. My wife has sat in the car many times and said " Are you done dreaming, Can we get going now" many times in that parking lot.

Ralphie, you're disappointing me. I've had my New Year duck avatar up for a while now and not once a snarky comment from you. What gives? Still grieving over the Shania disillusionment?

I absolutely live the Keys. Don't think I could handle the summers there, but we love to go for a week or two around thanksgiving. We've stayed on Cudjoe, Big Pine, Marathon and Sugarloaf. Always had such a great time.

It's gotten so expensive to fly though, and since DD1 now needs 4 tickets to get the family there, we skipped going this year. But we talked about it a lot over Christmas!! Hopefully next year.

We have a good friend that lives in Cudjoe, my brother & sis-in-law have had houses in Big Pine and Sugarloaf. I lived in Key West for about 3 years and loved it! Hated to leave, summers and all. Met some of the best people there that I'm still friends with and some of the most interesting. Not sure I could go back for a vacation though...it would be too different and maybe kind of mess up my memories. Not to mention, DH would have his hands full trying to get me to leave a 2nd time, lol.

Hope you get to go next year Friday, it's such a special place and so beautiful.

And Wyoming just got a whole lot better because of all of that, Debby!

What a nice thing to say Blooie, thank you. You're a good example of some of the nicest people we've met here (of course, you're the best of 'em all)
