The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

We use macaroni and top with grated cheese that melts into the hot chili mac. Good stuff.
For a change of pace and to be sure we have enough for a second meal that only requires a minute or 2 in the microwave we sometimes add a can of whole kernel sweet corn.

We have 2 plates from tonight's supper in the fridge for a quick lunch tomorrow. It's a busy day tomorrow. Trying to get ready for company Friday. #2 son and DIL will be here.

We have a high 60s high two days next week!
 Y'all are going to freeze to death!!!!

Aw, I have a soft spot for orange cats ❤️
There's your answer @DigMyChicks, send the new one to Kentucky

The twins and I are the early risers today.

Wow, they got a lot done!!

At this age they are willing, if not able, to do anything I ask. Once their able, I doubt they'll be so enthusiastic.
So, so true. Only fun until they can actually do it by themselves. Then it becomes a chore.

Nothing horrific, but I'm not going to jump in without thinking all the pros and cons over.
Well the cons are obvious - NO CHICKENS!!!
;)

I don't ever want to give up all my chickens but will have to reduce the numbers I know as I get older and I get older every day. I'd like to be able to keep at least 10 hens and a rooster of 7 different breeds. I really want to add Indio Giagantes in the spring. I have a Roo now that is half Indio Giagante and he is so special. He comes when called expecting a treat of some kind. He gets a peck or two of something special but not enough to mess up his diet. I live in a good climate zone for them.

I have 8 fancy silkie eggs I just candled. (tossed out 4 quitters). These 8 are due on the 26th, so just a few days. I never wanted to hatch any over the winter here because they can't be taken outside on Day 2. I always start bringing them outside asap so they build up resistances, but my silkie breeder asked me to buy some eggs at half price ($20 instead of $40) and I fell for it lol. I'm so danged excited. I told hubby I think I'm addicted to always having chicks as I just mope when I walk by the empty brooder in the living room. He agrees. :lau
