I think we have enough neighbors target shooting around here that the coyotes have moved on farther into the deep woods. I hope so. Last year a family lost all their chickens to coyotes that lived about 4 miles away from us.

We have them here almost all the time, but they usually stay up in the hills behind us and never get too close. But my neighbor has baby goats, and they're coming down trying to investigate. :hmm
 
Our neighbors the other side of the road have heard coyotes howling some back in the summer. Neighbor to the west of us has seen them a time or two near a lake his property. I want a high voltage fence around our place as soon as I can get it done. Driving the post is what is slowing it down. Need to find some kids that play football to come and drive them for us. There was a time when kids got some kind of credits doing such things as part of their requirement for graduation. I don't know if that is still done or if it has ever been done here but it is a good idea to introduce kids to the real world.

Have you ever asked at your local high school or trade school if they do things like that?

This was years ago, but the high school kids built my grandma a small home as a school project. I think grandma (or more likely my dad) paid for the materials and the school kids under direction of their teacher, did all the labor.

Apparently the high school football team helped build my childhood home. This was back in the 70s I think that it was built. That’s why things are a little wonky in it. :lau that and the fact they probably all may have been high too 🤣🤣🤣🙈

Oliver is very handsome. Hopefully he comes home soon. One of my kitties went missing a few months ago and she finally came home with half her tail missing. We had to amputate the rest. Now she's a bobtail. I'm guessing a coyote chased her up a tree but she didn't get away cleanly. Hopefully Oliver is just out on a walk about. :fl
