Thanks! I did survive! I just got home, threw some more hay and locked the feathered kids up and such.

Not sure how successful I was on the shopping front; I got one of those potted christmas trees, like a little Blue Spruce that I'm going to put in there and sausages. That's all I could come up with! We have this really good sausage place that I love, so that's where those will be from.

We'll see if it's a "hit." It's a random pick gift exchange where you draw numbers (according to your age I think draws their number first) then you pick a wrapped gift or an already opened gift, if there are any or any you want. A gift can only be stolen 3 times then it's frozen.

Good morning, Jen. I love those white elephant exchanges.
I have this awesomely ugly frog vase that I'm holding onto for a grandchild. Years ago when two of the grandboys were 2 and 4, we decided to let them participate in a white elephant with the rest of the family. I wrapped to kids gifts in santa paper so they would be drawn to those rather than adult gifts. The first one drew his and was so excited but my youngest son wanted to tease him so he "stole" the gift. Rather than listen to us and take his gift back or draw the other santa gift, he picked this ugly vase. His expression when he opened it was so crestfallen. (I did end up drawing the kids gift and trading him. Lol)
Everytime I see the vase it makes me smile.
