The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Happy Buddy day, and I think I've been married that long too, I believe a dinosaur pulled my wedding carriage.

Thanks....it is difficult to type and ROFL at the same time

Hope you are feeling better. How are those shots going?

I'm getting stressed by the countdown to no more posting here for a bit. I would have preferred to be surprised, now I feel like I have too much to say. I guess I am addicted.

Wow....gone for a couple of days and all Hades breaks out!!

New forum? I gotta read more about that. I've done the BYH thing but wasn't too impressed with the format. I think it's cumbersome and awkward. But then I felt that way when I joined here, so who knows?

Now, for the news. Linda is going home from the hospital tomorrow or Wednesday. Yep. She is!! ! I talked to her last night and although her voice is very hoarse from intubation she sounded strong and was even laughing about her ordeal. She said she remembers going to sleep on the couch and the next thing she has a blurry recollection of, she was in dialysis wondering why she was hooked up to other machines and why Russ was late picking her up, but not being able to ask anyone. She said at first she was more mad than scared, then she just faded back off and doesn't remember anything until she "woke up" completely on Friday. The truly amazing thing is that aside from having no memory of anything other than those few seconds in dialysis, she has no - read that again, NO - neurological deficits. None. No tremors, no weakness, nothing. Talk about the power of prayer!!

It was funny. Lori called me yesterday and told me I'd better give Russ a call. My heart sank - she just woke up on Friday....had something else happened and Russ wanted to tell me himself? So I called Russ's cell phone and he answered. He said "hi" and then, "here". Next thing I know Linda had the phone and she said, "Why haven't you called me before, Turd?" I couldn't even speak. Then she said, "Don't you start bawling on me....I still have to walk all the way back to my room from here and need to see where I'm going." And that's when I heard the most glorious sound on Earth....Linda's contagious and unmistakable giggle! She said, "I've been trying to shut you up for 64 and 1/2 years...I may have finally done it!"

That girl has 9 lives and she's used up 20 of them so far!! And she's shortening mine significantly. The doctors never did find out what caused this latest episode. Her blood pressure and heart are fine, the MRI and CT scans were fine, the 24 hour EEG showed nothing other than the seizure activity, which we've known about for over a year. But she and Russ have signed for a nurse to be with her when Russ isn't home, so that helps us all feel a little better. We are still going home on Wednesday....by then I may have thought of a comeback for her!!

Oh, and sorry - Buddy's birthday isn't the last one! Grandaugher-in-law Rachel's was yesterday and grandson Jamie is today! So Happy Birthday Buddy, and Happy birthday to the parents of my amazing great grandkids!!!

Love you all, and thanks for......well, you know.....everything!

Great news @Blooie, glad your sister is recovering. I'm not too keen on the new format either. Us old folks hate change, in my day.......
