Good Morning Friends :hugs

Eeew, Monday morning and back to work for me :caf

We have bears! Not like your bears though .. we have drop bears!

A drop bear (sometimes dropbear) is a hoax in contemporary Australian folklore featuring a predatory, carnivorous version of the koala (Phascolarctos cinereus). This imaginary animal is commonly spoken about in tall tales designed to scare tourists. While koalas are typically docile herbivores (and notably, not bears), drop bears are described as unusually large and vicious marsupials that inhabit treetops and attack unsuspecting people (or other prey) that walk beneath them by dropping onto their heads from above :p

I watched ‘Chicken People’ on the weekend .. never having been to a chicken show, it was interesting.

Other than that, I got nuff’n. I did get around to cleaning out that cupboard and also managed to eek out a bit more bench space in the kitchen :)

LOL OMG

I bought a really great flannel shirt lined with fleece, love it so much I've been sleeping in it. I turn the heat down to save $$$ and it gets cold. Actually I bought two, a man's shirt and the women version from LLBean.

True to form the women's version had a scratchy, thinner flannel, and pockets where not lined with fleece, like the men's version. So I returned the womens shirt and kept the mens.

It's too long and loose on me BUT, I don't have an hour glass figure, so men shirtss feel a lot better on.

Also ordered a second men's shirt for me same kind but, has a hood. It will be like a cacoon for me. Oddly enough they were having 25% off anything- which is about the most you can save with them - so I did it.

Awesome! I might need to buy those lol

I buy the majority of my clothes in the men's department. Women's are not comfortable or functional. I do not care about coordinating or outfits. I find woman's clothing silly.

I wear a lot of band shirts haha my mom says I should wear something else but I don't really care, I'drather be comfortable lol we have bought a lot of women's clothes though cause sometimes we find a lot of stuff and buy at once but I never wear most of it. I do sometimes on special occasions when I have to. And some of the clothes are pretty comfortable. But I'm also OCD/have a bit of a texture thing so some are just so uncomfortable or they don't fit right because I am so tall. But so many have that stupid lace stuff or weird/itchy materials or big tags or whatever and I can't wear it

What makes me mad is they charge more for the woman's clothes, even when it is the same only smaller!

It is very true! It starts with Toddler clothes and things for Girls being more expensive. Target got in trouble for it several years ago. Pink toy was price higher than the same toy in blue

That is ridiculous!!

Hi all! A weird thing happened to our pup Hattie today. She was sleeping in the front of the house and hubby was looking out the window and all of a sudden he said what the heck, holy crap and went running out the door. He said she had smoke coming off her. I opened the window and could smell something burning. The sun was powerful and there was no wind and it reflected off the window and started her fur smouldering. Who knows what would have happened if Craig had not seen it. Craziness!!
It didn’t make it down to her skin thank goodness! The small light reflection to the left is where she was laying. It’s a good thing my windows were dirty or it may have had more power.

There was an article about leaving prescription glasses in the window of a care and causing a fire.

They say to watch out for water bottles in a car doing the same thing!

WOW! I had no idea that could happen!!!!

Poor Hattie! Glad she only smoked a bit and it didn't reach her skin! Yikes! You are lucky your hubby realised what was happening!

I've been (still am) rather under the weather. My DH seems to have brought home a bug and our daughter isn't well today. It just makes you really tired!

My finch chicks are still alive but they aren't really feeding well. They very rarely beg and I'm pretty much drip feeding them. So that's tiring and frustrating. I'm at the point where I feel like if they are going to die would they please just hurry up and do it and put me out of my misery.

I had a box with some pine shavings in it that I'd temporarily put a quail in. I forgot to put it away didn't I, so our two fluffy cats decided it was a great place to sleep and they have seriously tracked it all through the house! Shavings stick quite nicely to cat fluff. Hopefully I'll be feeling up to vacuuming tomorrow.

We currently have a loan fridge and we are supposed to hear back sometime this week about what they've found out/decided about our broken fridge. The loan fridge is TINY! Our fridge was never over filled but space really is at a premium in this one. The fruit and vege bin is ridiculous! Fingers crossed it's not for much longer.

@Teila - Drop Bears! :lau The picture on the sign makes them look pretty fierce.

Good morning, I'm back!

Had so much fun with my cousin, we grew up together and she's almost like a sister to me (an older sister as I like to remind her). We messed around in Laramie Friday then Saturday we met my SIL in Fort Collins, CO for the day. The old downtown there is block after block of little specialty shops and independently owned restaurants so lots to see and did a bit of shopping.

I got home yesterday afternoon and DH took me out fishing....and, I caught my very 1st fish! A nice sized trout (I'll try to post a photo later today). DH got one too, but mine was the biggest :p

Trying to catch up here on BYC, lots of reading so I'll be popping in/out today. Hope you all have a good one!

Good morning Debby and all. Glad you had fun! I’ve never had trout. Here it’s walleye, sunfish crappies and northern...I’m sure others also but that’s the main ones.

Love all mentioned, but I caught the biggest lake trout in Eley, MN, but it's a different type of fishing than those you mentioned.:old

drop bear

Had to go search... pics and poster warnings all over the net, never heard of the drop bear - glad to know it's just folklore

It is very true! It starts with Toddler clothes and things for Girls being more expensive. Target got in trouble for it several years ago. Pink toy was price higher than the same toy in blue

Now that makes me mad - but hey, the Target in Macon is closing :D
Don't they know some girls prefer blue anyway ;)

It is shocking to see the price tags on children's clothes.

OMG, would not have believed it without pics - glad she is OK. You would think the sun wouldn't be in one spot long enough to cause that.

Guess that explains the theory of spontaneous combustion of humans.

Me too - that's why I wear knit or stretch tops and have to cut tags out of clothes. And never, never try to wear unlined linen :barnie. And I'm a little OCD as well :D

:fl - it's difficult to live without a full sized fridge, hope you get yours fixed or a new one soon.

Have you been somewhere ;)...just kidding...we missed you and glad you are back.

Sounds like a wonderful get away - gotta see a pic of the fish.

I had rainbow trout only once on a trip with my family years ago....they served it with the head on. I could not even taste it with those eyes staring at me....so Dad put a napkin over it's head, and it was very tasty :drool.
