The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Wow that's awesome! Maybe she'll be okay then :)

And i hadn't realized they hid like that but it makes sense

When its not turkey season they frequently visit my turkeys. I'm still a little (LOT) irritated that they recruited 7 of my Red Bronze birds into their flock. But they'll walk right up the logging road and stand outside the fence chatting.

Good Morning Friends :hugs

Many thanks for your support during my mini-vent. All good again today and I remind myself that ‘my reaction is my responsibility’ :)

CB777 Gabbie is just too adorable! :love

Beautiful snow picture Capricorn!

We have one of these for throwing the ball for Jessie who is tennis ball obsessed! It works really well:

It is only predicted to get to 89.5F today, a slight reprieve ;) Plus, a 50% chance of some welcome showers and/or a tropical storm but I am not holding my breath.

You're always welcome to vent.

My avatar, Prancer was so funny. It didn't matter what I threw, she just looked at me like: "What is that and why do I care?" Then comes the tennis ball. OMG she couldn't contain herself. She got a bag full every Christmas and was in heaven. I was finally convinced she had some golden retriever in her (not to mention the blond hair on her butt) when I watched one play with a tennis ball at the lake. Her owners were tossing the tennis ball into the lake and she'd retrieve it and deposit it on the bench. Then go back into the lake. When the owner got involved in a conversation and quit throwing the ball, she walk right in between the folks in question and shook off all the water and then went and laid down.

Jessie loves the tennis ball and twice a day, just before lunch and late afternoon, she goes over to the park with whoever is free and has a good run, retrieving the ball.

She also loves and gets to play 'stick in water' every morning. However, if you throw it too far, you have to fetch! LOL

Wow, I didn't realize they recruited other turkeys or that domestic ones could survive out there! I'm sure they're happy though

And LOL OMG the dog story is hilarious!

Just trying to improve their genetics ;)

Didn't look all THAT deep Teila! Does she "require" her feet to be able to reach the bottom?

hat is what I am using since one of the nipples built into the bottom of the nest box failed a week before Thanksgiving. I would have to take the entire nest box apart to replace the nipple. Heated dog dishes are not that expensive and have built in thermostats so they don't run all the time and no need to get a Thermocube for the same purpose. The heated dog dish works fine but it is out in the barn alley so no water in the coop for "pre roost time after scratch" drinks. And it gets dirty in the alley, nipple water is always clean :D

Well, it turns out DH did not check the light "cause it was new" and you probably guessed it, the light was bad....so he got a working light in now so hopefully, no more frozen water? Last night was the coldest for us for at least the next weeks forecast ;) I think my gals would wade thru a dog bowl and aren't nipple water trained :(.

Tomorrow DH and I are leaving for an overnight trip to Fort Collins. Sort of an early Christmas gift to each other...we'll do a lot of walking the old downtown area, get a nice meal or two then head back home Tuesday. Should be fun!

Have a great time. Hope y'all have nice weather :)

Besides the dog hair issue, I don't think I could get him to stand in the shower or to go upstairs.

Although I might actually have to try it. I wonder if there is a drain catch or something for the dog hair? Maybe I could put a towel or something down

I doubt dog hair would be as much a problem as human hair is :idunno. But why not brush/comb him and get in and shower with him....and do use a hair dryer on low to get him really dry before letting him back outside :).

Just wrapped some presents for Grandson. Most of the stuff we just had shipped direct to their house, but hubby ordered stuff for us at the same time so these came here. Tomorrow i will be hitting the post office with numerous packages.

Hope all can stand the 6 foot drop . Just kidding :)

mini-vent

Vent, I did not perceive a vent....just saying it like it is :D

Lol they'd be adding some good genetics

And Gator used to be like that.

No, she can and will swim happily without the paws touching sand but I think sometimes she just likes to train and watch someone else :p

Hahaha funny dog

You mkght be right! But he sheds a lot. Maybe I'll try brushing him first though. And I think he'd be scared of a blow dryer lol

But how do you propose I get him to stay still for 10 minutes?
