I know!

We can plant them until the end of January here. Where you are it is best in fall before the frost

They are not bare root, they have big old pots on the bottom full of dirt. I had to practically bribe the lady to give me bags big enough to tie over the pots so the soil did not end up all over the back of the car. Had to tie the trunk shut with branches sticking out. I got a fuji apple tree, 2 plum trees and a peach tree.

You will be able to make great Jelly and pies! Apple butter too
 
Or better yet let the neighbors do all the work and then go swipe stuff off theirs after dark. Ah, those were the days....all was good unless Old Man Van der Linde came out of the house and nailed us.

Hey, @lazy gardener - think I could do a search and find that story from the Porch? I don't seem to have it in my collection....
 
Just got back from shopping .. pegged the washing out and will go back in 5mins to bring it back in cos it will be dry! :sick

Plans for today … as little as possible! After lunch, going to sit under the fan and do my BYC greets and then update my new 2018 diary with birthdays, anniversaries etc from the 2017 one, also under the fan! :sick Chookies mister is running flat out.

Prediction for Tuesday is 98.5F!
