sorry, but
to mom
No need for the sorry...that's just the way she has always been and we (her kids) know it.

That's me every morning. I usually drink a whole pot of coffee before I do anything every day!
My kind of coffee cup!My coffee cup holds about 20 oz. After I've had 2 of those, that's about the same as a whole pot of coffee![]()
Isn't that always the way? Gotta sign up for the insurance in Oct or Nov, find out in Jan that you need work. We paid full freight for BOTH DD's orthodonture for just that reason. HUGE bucks.
OK, now that is JUST TOO FUNNY a typo!
Do you hate the dentist or his rates??
Sounds like you might want to get a second opinion from a cheaper dentist. Probably still need the fillings but maybe not so expensive??
My aunt used to say "A BA stands for bugger all".
Just remember it's absolutely ok to be you! And they aren't real friends if they don't love all of you (like we do)!
I love this quote:

I once had a root canal done with an infection in the tooth so pain killer was ineffective. The dentist just kept drilling with tears rolling down my face! I am overdue for a check up. The only dentists i like are in West TN.
Yeah, i was begging them to use laughing gas or hit me over the head with a frying pan or something! And they thought i was going back there! No freaking way!
My last little one hatched this evening. It's a minor miracle seeing as I (stupidly) thought it had pipped in two different places on the egg. So I opened up the air cell enough to see there were still veins there, so I oiled it up, left it to it, and it popped out just fine. It's still drying off completely and looks to have a bit of membrane stuck to its wing, but it's perky and cuddling with the others. I think it's a caramel.

Morning everyone!
Finally got caught up with you all from yesterdayDental appointment went fine but came home with a headache so didn't do much with the rest of the day. I guess we've all had our share of bad experiences with dentists, a good one is worth hanging on to.
@DigMyChicks I hope your son will get another opinion before letting the one dentist fill those cavities. The doc my mom used to take us to would drill every 6 months. I found out as an adult most of those were totally unnecessary but since they were done they've had to be replaced...the original doc just did lots of little 'surface' fillings that have fallen apart over time.
@sunflour your netted run is going to be so nice, the girls will love their time out there.
@JaeG cute little chick, glad he did alright!
@rjohns39 you're right on with the degree comments. Throughout my 33 years in the health insurance business, many times I saw people hired or promoted over more qualified employees simply because they had degrees. And I mean degrees that had nothing to do with business, it was just the fact that someone had that piece of paper. Even so, I am not a proponent of everyone going to college. I believe some people are better suited to learning a trade...the world will always need plumbers, electricians, and the like (and a person can make a very good living from some trades).
Ok, starting to ramble, it must be time for another cup of coffee![]()
Unnecessary drilling isn't good, glad you're going to get another opinion.
I didn't know the dentist I went to as a kid had a reputation for unnecessary drilling until I was an adult working for a health insurance company. I mentioned to my mom once about all the work that guy did that wasn't needed and she said she knew but kept taking us to him anyway because "he was so nice".
Gee, thanks Mom.
Yep, I read it just after it was posted. What a "herd" of animals during the time in TN!
Then your post requesting Sumi change your user name in your interview. It wasn't there when I went into the thread. So I read your interview, still NorthFlChick. Then there was Sumi's post saying it had been changed. And so it is!!
I'm never this on top of things! I better go back to bed while I am ahead.
Dad had that problem. Had a good dentist, good hygienist. Hygienist left, son took over his father's business and all of a sudden my Dad "needed" a lot of work. He happened to find out where the hygienist went and moved. Amazing I know but that move also negated the need for all the work he "needed" according to the other dentist.
It is sad, we are brought up to think that our medical providers put our best interests foremost. Guess not.
You're already on top of things? You're scaring me Bruce, I don't want that bar set so high I can't live up to it
I just have to say, there are good medical providers out there. I've been fortunate enough to have had some myself. But like any other profession, the bad apples are probably talked about more than the good ones.
I didn’t go to the dentist until I was an adult...with 12 kids my parents couldn’t afford it. I’d rather have an honest dentist if I had the choice.
I think that is an oxymoron. Drinking coffee IS doing something! That's me every morning. I usually drink a whole pot of coffee before I do anything every day!
Very good point! That makes me super productive each and every day!I think that is an oxymoron. Drinking coffee IS doing something!![]()
